All Spice Ground
Product Description
Ground allspice can best be described as a mixture of warm aromas of various spices. Apart from cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg, the flavor of pepper can be recognized to some extent. Nevertheless, both black and white pepper taste a lot sharper. So it is absolutely not the same as pepper, which some people may think. Ground allspice can therefore absolutely not be described as spicy, but as slightly sharp and sweet. The taste of allspice is mainly formed by the presence of eugenol. This is the same substance found in cloves.
Ground allspice can be used in both sweet and savory dishes. It is very popular in the United States and the Middle East. There it is often used in meat dishes, especially stews. You can also mix it with oil, orange juice and sugar and rub your chunks of meat with it before grilling them. When it comes to vegetables, the ground spice is an excellent partner for aubergines, pumpkins and sweet potatoes. Clove, coriander, garlic and ginger are some of the herbs and spices that go well with ground allspice. You can also use this spice as a whole.
